Daily Challenges
Day 1 (19th August) Challenge:
Take a photo of yourself - your natural self - in public and post it on your blog/tumblr tagged as “naturalbeautyweek”. I will then search the tag and reblog the pictures of your beautiful faces to this blog to encourage others who are participating! Looking fowards to seeing all your natural smiles :)
Day 2 (20th August) Challenge:
Write a list of 10 things you like about yourself, then stick it up somewhere you are going to see it a lot for the remainder of this week. Also, if you want to, post 1/2 (or if you really want all 10) of the things you like about yourself on your tumblr tagged as “naturalbeautyweek”. This challenge is all about trying to focus on the positives instead of the negatives like we normally do.
Day 3 (21st August) Challenge:
I challenge you to say a certain positive affirmation every time you hear or see a certain thing. For instance, if my positive phrase was “I am beautiful”, and my thing was the colour red. Then, every time I saw the colour red I would have to say/think to myself, “I am beautiful”. Try and make the affirmation unique to you. Some of the affirmations you could use are: “I am a natural beauty”, “I am confident”, “I am loved”, “I am valued”, “I can get through this” etc. For the object or sound, you could chose a colour (a bit hard), the sound of your phone getting a text, school bell etc. Choose something that you hear or see often but not too much that it is impossibly hard/annoying. At first it will be tough, but the more you do it, the easier it will become. Remember these are challenges, they are not meant to be easy. Also, make a post on tumblr saying what you will say when and if you want why that affirmation is important to you. Remember to tag it as “naturalbeautyweek”.
Day 4 (22nd August) Challenge:
Challenge 4 is a little bit different from the other challenges. Today, the challenge involves others. I challenge you to go out of your way and do something nice for someone else. It can be a family member, friend, co-worker or even stranger. You could do something as small as compliment someone or writing someone a sweet note. To buying someone lunch or sitting with someone at school who is sitting alone. Feel free to be as creative as you like! The reason I have chosen this challenge is because I think when we do nice things for others, we also feel good about ourselves. So, go out there and do something kind! If you feel like you normally do small things like this anyways, then make it a challenge to do as many nice things as you can today! Then share with us on tumblr what you kind thing/s you did (tag as “naturalbeautyweek”).
Day 5 (23rd August) Challenge:
I challenge you to stop comparing yourself to others. It sounds simple, but I think it is something majority of us girls do and is terribly unhealthy for us most of the time. So, try to go a whole 24 hours without looking at other person and comparing them to yourself. If you look at someone and start thinking about their body in any way, look away! I know this will be hard, I know I do it without meaning to. But, if you can stop it, or even minimise it in your life then it will benefit you. We need to realise that we are all different and that is totally fine. We all have our own unique beauty. Comparison just makes us wish we looked different or make us look down upon someone, both I feel are unhealthy. If you want to make this challenge interactive, make a post on your tumblr/blog about how you think you went at the end of Day 5 and if you thought it was hard etc. Again tag you post as “naturalbeautyweek”.
Day 6 (24th August) Challenge:
I challenge you to go without looking at your reflection in a mirror for a whole day! Yes, you heard me right! You’re not allowed to look at your own reflection for 24 hours! This challenge was suggested by the amazing Mary (icantwanttogiveup) who has been helping me out a bit this week. At the end of the day, make a post letting us know how you went, if you did go the day without a mirror, or if it was too hard etc.
Day 7 (25th August) Challenge:
For the last day, your challenge is to do something for yourself. I know it doesn’t sound like much of a challenge, but I want you to spend some “me” time because you have been able to do so much this week! Also, if you would like, make a post about how you feel the week went, something you liked/disliked, and what you gained from it (if anything).
Thank you for participating in the challenges gorgeous!
